Bird is the Word

While the waterfalls were quite jawdropping from both the Brazilian and the Argentine sides, and my respective posts attempted to do them justice, there seems to be an absence of a certain ornithological piece. A headline regarding mass awareness of a certain avian variety. Let's resolve that, shall we?

Parque das Aves is a privately owned zoo located right next to the entrance to the Brazilian side of the falls. It's quite an awesome project, too: 50% of their birds have been rescued from injury or trafficking, while further 43% were born at the park. On top of that, you can enter some cages to interact with the animals (because flash photography is what tiggers and toucans like best), and there is even a special area with just butterflies and hummingbirds. The latter is called beijaflor in Portuguese, which literally means flower kisser. Without further ado, let me leave you with a couple of pics.
